Eye service?

Hello, hello famzzzzz 🤩🤩🤩!!! How have y’all been doinggggg? Woops! I really missed y’all and this site. School’s hustles and bustles are so stressful that I fell sick of recent— but all thanks to God, I’ve recuperated.

That’s by the wayyy. I’m here again with an interesting topic, Eye service…hmm! The Yorubas of the South Western part of Nigeria will call it “oju aye”. ‘Sounds funny, innit?

You see, during my childhood days, I used to think that eye service means “the service rendered to the eyes only”. Later, I realised that the actual meaning is totally different from what I thought it was!

Two of the things I love about myself is keen observation and thorough research😎👌. (P.s:- I’m not being full of myself here🙅🏻. Plixxxx. Ejoor.)

According to my research, “eye service is the service rendered when the employer is only around”. Well, eye service is not only done in the professional world, but also in friendships, relationships, family ties and even in Christendom and Islamic world.

Absurd, innit?

Eye service is a service of deceit and corruption. Those who renders the so called service are called the green snakes under the green grass. Now I realise why it is called EYE service; Mr. A does it only when Mr. B is watching (eyes).

Even Jesus said “Not all those who call me Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of God“.

Last month, I read a particular book. Very interesting one. The author mentioned a man who fasted for 100 days stretch. He wanted to “move” God. Guess what happened? He died on the 100th day when he wanted to break his fasting.

See, there are some things most of us don’t know. One of it is that God doesn’t move. He is not man that moves; He is God and He does as He pleases. So, if you think you can move God, please stop thinking. You can’t move God!

Now, to the human-to-human part…how would feel if your friends, spouse, families and elderly ones discover that you aren’t loyal to them?

What if they discover that you don’t really love them?

What if they discover that you have been fooling them all this while? How would you feel?

Sad, right?

But…how do you think they would feel? Sad and heartbroken, right?

That’s it! The wages of eye service is disgrace and distrust.

So, the conclusion of the whole matter is that eye service is very dangerous.

If you are engaging in it, please do well to disengage.

If you are about to engage, please do well not to do so.

If you are no longer engaging, please do well not be engaged again.
